Yesterday I met Dick and Stephen around 4pm for a 5 hour bass fishing trip.  Dick and Stephen are two of the nicest guys I’ve had on the boat all year, so I knew this would be a fun trip.

Dick hooked up on the ultra-light setup.

We headed out in the afternoon and fortunately for us, Brandon Nardella, who is a member of the blog, was also out on the water yesterday.  We were lucky enough to find some fish within minutes of leaving the dock, so I quickly called Brandon to get him in on the action.

Later on in the trip Brandon would return the favor by calling us in on a good bite.

Thank you Brandon!

At around 6pm we were able to put a few 30 plus pound fish in the boat in addition to the 20 pounders we had caught earlier.  Dick even battled a nice keeper on an ultra-light spinning setup that I had brought along just for kicks.

The icing on the cake was the flat calm conditions and beautiful sunset.  The air was cool and the fishing was hot.  You can’t beat it!

I think we have some good things to look forward to this weekend off Cape Cod.  The bass bite is still steady, there’s funny fish all over creation and there’s the occasional giant tuna as well.

Tight lines and go get ‘em!
