Fishing in Belize | Day #1
This week Lauren and I are honeymooning and fishing in the country of Belize.
We've already seen a bunch of bonefish and saltwater crocodiles, and have met some awesome ex-Pats and local Belizians.
Fishing Belize | Day #2 VIDEO
Fortunately for me, Lauren has picked a cabina that just happens to be located within walking distance of an absolutely gorgeous fishing area.
We've now explored around quite a bit, and I believe other cabinas are not so lucky.
Barracuda from the Beach
The bonefish and tarpon here in Belize continue to be an extreme challenge for me.
Yesterday I was able to get a bonefish to strike my fly, but I missed the hook set. Today I got smashed by a tarpon, but missed that hook set too.
My First Bonefish Ever
Throughout our trip in Belize I have probably seen more than 100 bonefish, but they have been challenging to hook.
Bonefish spook easily and can be very finicky. Plus the wind has been blowing 20 mph, which makes it difficult to cast accurately with the fly rod.

My Fishing Cape Cod
About the Author
I started fishing Cape Cod when I was 5 and have been hooked ever since! I have my Dad to thank for that. We fished for years out of a 12 foot aluminum skiff powered by a 6hp. We chased stripers, bluefish and even tuna in that thing. I feel in love with the Cape Cod fishing lifestyle, and as a result My Fishing Cape Cod was born. MFCC was created for people who love fishing on Cape Cod. It is a place to learn and to share the fishing experience with others. Good luck, tight lines, and be sure to remember that catching fish is always just a bonus!
