Online Resources

My Fishing Cape Cod has certainly come a long way, but as you can probably tell, it's pretty tough to cover every aspect of the Cape Cod fishing world.  That's why it is important to view other resources that also do a fine job helping people catch fish.

Here's a list of some of my favorite Cape Cod fishing resources.

On The Water Magazine - Without a doubt, "On the Water" is my favorite fishing magazine.  These guys cover everything from giant bluefin tuna fishing, to catching blue gills through the ice.  They also have a phenomenal T.V. show that airs on Comcast.

Miss Loretta Fishing has also been featured in a few of OTW articles, so remember to check this winter for upcoming material!

You can also find OTW on Facebook by clicking here.

Stripers 24/7 - There is certainly no shortage of striped bass fishing forums on the web, but there is a shortage of quality forums.  I've always felt comfortable posting comments, questions and fishing reports on Stripers 24/7.  There are a lot of positive attitudes floating around this forum, which is very refreshing to say the least!

Sportfishermen.com - Their tagline is "The Ultimate Fishing Resource" and boy oh boy did they hit the nail on the head with that one.  This forum has the BEST big game fishing captains answering questions, posting reports and keeping everyone aware of the latest political developments in the tuna fishing world.

I'm always on this board reading reports in the days leading up to a tuna trip.  The tips and advice these guys provide is priceless.  I have even been in contact with some Sportfishermen members while on the water; helping each other out by sharing fish reports.  Be careful though, as it is incredibly easy to spend hours carousing the reports and posts while you should be working, or spending time with the wife/girlfriend.

GoFishn.com - This is a pretty fun website with a lot of fishing reports, pictures, videos and fun facts.  Miss Loretta Fishing has a page on GoFishn, along with a lot of other top charter captains in the New England area.  The site was started by a local Cape Codder, which makes it that much better.  So far they are up to 171,000 Likes on Facebook-pretty darn impressive stuff.

Fishhound.com - This site is well on their way to becoming the leading authority on nationwide fishing reports.  I also try to post reports, pictures and videos on Fishhound when I get the chance.  Check out the Miss Loretta Fishing page by clicking here.

I know the guys behind this site are pretty legit because I've talked to them on the phone.  They actually called me and asked if I would be up to posting a couple fishing reports each week on their site.  How about that for making an impact?

Sailflow.com - Wind reports have become more and more accurate over the years.  I always check multiple wind reports before heading out, but I've found Sailflow's to be some of the most reliable.  Often times they are dead on.  And of course sometimes they are not.  I like the wind graph feature that overlays NOAA's marine weather forecast.  They basically provide two wind reports in one view, which saves me some time-especially if I am checking the site on my mobile while on the water.

I'll continue to add more resources as I think of them.  Be sure to let me know if you stumble across something worth presenting here!

Tight lines and catch 'em up,

Captain Ryan
