10 Can’t-Miss Reasons to Attend the 2025 New England Saltwater Fishing Show

by Ryan Collins

The Northeast's premier fishing event is back and bigger than ever!

The 21st Annual New England Saltwater Fishing Show returns to the Rhode Island Convention Center this March 7-9, 2025, bringing together the region's most passionate anglers, expert guides, and top fishing brands under one roof.

As someone who'll be both exhibiting and speaking at this year's show, I'm particularly excited about the impressive lineup of seminars, exhibitors, and special events they have planned.

So whether you're a seasoned angler or just getting started, here's my list of 10 reasons why you won't want to miss this year's show!

1. It's The Largest Fishing Show in the Northeast

With over 300 exhibitors under one roof, this is your chance to explore the latest and greatest in fishing gear, technology, and accessories.

From rods and reels to boats and electronics, you'll find everything you need for your next fishing adventure.

2. There will be Exclusive Show Specials and Deals

Get ready to score big! Many exhibitors will be offering show-exclusive discounts on tackle, equipment, and accessories. This is your best opportunity to gear up for the upcoming fishing season while saving money.

3. Chance to Learn from the Pros

Take your fishing game to the next level with non-stop seminars from the region's top anglers. Learn proven strategies for catching striped bass, summer flounder, tautog, and more. Whether you fish from shore, kayak, or boat, there's expertise for everyone.

Speakers will include...

  • Captain Kevin Albone
  • Joe Calcavecchia
  • Captain Jason Colby
  • East End Eddie Doherty
  • Captain Matthew Perachio
  • Captain Jerry Sparks
  • Jeff Sullivan and Paul Chapman
  • And while I certainly don't consider myself to be "a pro", I am honored to be part of this year's seminar schedule. I will be presenting "Fishing Cape Cod in 2025" at 2pm on Saturday.

This year's show will feature a great lineup of speakers. I'm honored to be presenting "Fishing Cape Cod in 2025" at 2pm on Saturday.

Together we'll go month-by-month through a "typical" fishing season, highlighting with video some of the best fishing opportunities for various species from boat, shore and kayak.

    4. Special Events and Appreciation Days

    • Military Appreciation Friday: The first 200 military members and veterans receive FREE admission with valid Military ID or DD214
    • Family Sunday: All women are admitted free, making it the perfect day for the family
    • Kids 11 and under are free: Tickets are $15/person but youth anglers ages 11 and under are FREE!
    • Youth Activities: Don't miss the youth casting area (open Saturday and Sunday) where young anglers age 11 and under can practice their skills

    5. Amazing Raffles and Giveaways

The door prize for this year's show is a full day fishing charter for up to 6 people provided by Tall Tailz Charters. Raffle prizes will include 3 custom rods created by Crafty One Customs + more.

    6. Meet Charter Captains and Guides

Captain Jason Colby of Little Sister Charters is one of several charter captains attending this year's show. Jason will once again be at booth #1102.

Laura Jay Charters out of Sandwich, MA has held a booth at the show for many years. This year they'll once again be at space #801.

Planning your next fishing trip? Connect face-to-face with local charter captains and guides. Attending the show is a great chance to speak with the captains you see posting on Instagram and Facebook.

It's also a great opportunity to get some insider tips from these guys and bounce some questions off of them. Plus certain captains offer special deals, so it's a good way to book your dream fishing expedition for the upcoming season.

    7. Support Conservation and Community

The Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers have been involved in many conservation and fishery projects. For example, they have helped to secure grants which have been used to open up hundreds of acres of ponds and streams to returning river herring in many areas from Wakefield to North Kingstown and East Providence, RI.

The show is proudly sponsored by the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association (RISAA), a non-profit organization dedicated to marine conservation, education, and the preservation of recreational fishing. Your attendance helps support their mission to protect our marine resources for future generations.

    8. One-Stop Shopping Experience

Compare products side-by-side and get expert advice from manufacturers' representatives. Whether you're in the market for a new boat or just need to stock up on lures, you'll find everything under one roof.

    9. Family-Friendly Entertainment

Bring the whole family! Kids 11 and under are admitted free, making this an affordable weekend activity. The youth casting area and interactive displays make it fun for anglers of all ages.

    10. Network with Fellow Anglers

It's great bumping into familiar faces each year at this show!

This is a chance to connect with New England's vibrant fishing community and see some familiar faces. For me personally, it's a fantastic chance to meet and reconnect with members of My Fishing Cape Cod.

Together we'll share stories, learn new techniques, and make connections that will enhance our fishing experience all year long.
