Thank you all for joining us at this year’s Kickoff event! Your presence contributed to making the day truly special and successful.

The event brought together new and familiar faces, creating valuable connections while our speakers shared insightful presentations. Vendors successfully showcased their businesses and organizations, enhancing our community network.

We’re pleased to share this photo album captured by MFCC member Andrew Burke, whose exceptional photography documented the day’s highlights. Feel free to download and share these images as you wish.

Most importantly, we’re thrilled to announce that we set a new fundraising record, donating $7,111 to Fishing for the Mission 22 and the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without Cape & Islands Mitsubishi covering the venue costs and Ray Bazzano and Andrea Bailey donating their audio/visual services.

Your participation made this year’s Kickoff exceptional, and we look forward to making next year’s event even more impressive.

Tight lines! 🎣

We have some excellent photos from yesterday that you are free to download and share however you'd like. To access the photos, please click here.

MFCC member Calvin Toran-Sandlin and Goose Hummock surfcasting lead Ian MacPartland gave a great presentation on reading the beaches of the Outer Cape and boulderfields.

MFCC member Carl Johansen lead off the Kickoff by reciting his poem "Ode to a Rock" about angler courtesy and respect.

Including vendors and speakers we had over 230 people attend yesterday's event. Next year I hope to find a bigger venue that can accommodate 500!

In total we raised $7,111 which was split between Fishing for the Mission 22 and the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center. I submitted the donations today.

We would not have been able to donate $7,111 without Cape & Islands Mitsubishi covering the venue costs and Ray Bazzano and Andrea Bailey donating their audio/visual services. Thank you!

I'm fortunate to have grown up on the beach, and I've been fishing since kindergarten. I have great family, friends and fishing experiences to be thankful for. Just being out there is enough-catching fish is just a bonus!

  • Some great information was shared by many of our members along with some great products for sale as well by fellow members . I need to thank our host for allowing me to read my Ode to Rock with all of the changes and it is now complete. I have finished the words on the blog as well . Good to see to some old friends and miss not seeing some who have passed on . A day to remember for sure . Peace and Prayers

  • Everything was so Professional and well planned to meet all types of fishing styles. I was so happy to attend this event with my friends and then spending the day preparing for the upcoming season. The Speakers were Out Standing. Calvin and a Cully were Elite in their descriptions and knowledge. Very impressive .Thank also for the breakfast as I drove 1 1/2 hrs- it was unexpected and exactly what I needed. Bananas were awesome but I won’t bring them on the boat. Thank You All very much and Good Luck this season . Tight Lines.

  • It was a great time yesterday and you have some awesome lures! Can’t wait to try all my new lures this year on those Fishies! :call_me_hand:t2:

Thanks again, Ryan! Great time great information and great people!

  • I wanted to put in a few words, a note of thanks and gratitude for all the members that attended the 2025 season kick-off today and made possible the tremendous opportunity to hear some great presentations on fishing and to support a great cause. Without the membership, it’s not possible. Without Ryan , Bruno and Kevin this wouldn’t have grown out of ‘Cod and Coffee’ into what it is today and what it will grow into years down the road. What started as a small gathering to pass the winter away is now contributing to help those in need and spread the passion of fishing to a larger audience.

On my end, I’m humbled and energized by the number of people that stopped by the Monomoy Tackle booth to speak to me, share their experiences, and support my passion project. Many thanks again to all.

  • I agree Carl, the seminar was awesome! We really enjoyed your poem! It touched on many aspects of fishing, brother and sister hood and respect for one another. The speakers were fantastic as usual! Bruno is a great MC! We loved the vendors, raffles and love that proceeds that will go to Veterans. Thank You Ryan for putting this all together again! It’s a well thought out and wonderful event

  • Your poem was great to listen too Carl! Thank you for always sharing your experience, it’s priceless. It was nice seeing you as well.

  • Ryan,
The commitment of MFCC to Veterans on Cape Cod is very impressive. It says a great deal about you as a leader and as a person.

    • Thank you Dex! We have a wonderful community here on MFCC, and I’m glad we’re able to help veterans in a small but meaningful way. It was terrific having you at the Kickoff and thanks again for running the Lure Recycling table.
