Big Time Striper Blitzes | May 7 Report

The Cape saw a big influx of striped bass today, with many "big time" blitzes and top water feeding frenzies.

It is remarkable how the fish seem to have appeared all at once!

In this post I would like to share with you a little about what's been going on, and present you with a special fishing opportunity for this weekend.

Good Intel Is Key

Earlier today I received a phone call from MFCC contributor and charter captain Cullen Lundholm about acres of striped bass feeding on the surface. Obviously I was very pumped to hear the news!

This is the first reliable report I have received of large schools of bass feeding on the surface.

As a result I would like to get some My Fishing Cape Codders together this weekend to fish.

There are no guarantees in fishing, but based on what I'm hearing I feel we will have a good shot at connecting with some early season stripers. I do plan on bringing my camera equipment and reporting on what we encounter.

The first trip I would like to organize is for this Saturday morning, May 9th.

Watch the video below for more details and to learn how you can join our crew.

If you are not able to make the Saturday trip then please enter your name and email address here and I will let you know if we decide to fish again on Sunday morning.

More To Come Soon

Again if you can’t make the Saturday trip then just enter your name and email address here and I will keep you posted about Sunday.

I am very much looking forward to including some My Fishing Cape Codders in the reports, photos and videos from these trips.

As soon as I get back on land I will be sure to publish a new report highlighting what we find out there. Stay tuned!

Tight lines and take care,

Ryan

  • Have fun! Would definitely try to join you guys if not heading to Vermont for the weekend. Still have a slot open for Tues. AM in Troy NY if anyone’s willing to make the trip. They’ve caught stripers there up to 45″ this week.

    • Have a good trip Alain!

For anyone reading this, as of 7:20AM on Friday we have 1 open spot remaining. Right now it’s myself, Cullen, Jim Murphy, Darren Jacobs and Alan Bedard.

Weather is looking nice, should be fun!
