September 27th Striper Blitz Caught On Drone

At 8am this morning in this general area of Cape Cod, I was fortunate to encounter and film via drone a big striper blitz along the coastline.

I managed to catch a bundle of bass, but the real treat was observing the striper blitz from above!

Good luck if you head out fishing this weekend!

Stay tuned as we will publish our weekly podcast with the Goose Hummock, Canal Bait, and Eastman's Sport & Tackle later this afternoon.

I also plan to attend Striperfest tomorrow, so please come over and say hello if you see me!

In the meantime, members of My Fishing Cape Cod can watch the full 5 minute drone video of this striper blitz, and learn more about the general area where this was filmed by clicking here.

  • Great video Ryan!
I have a feeling you’re going to be discovering and sharing a lot of unique captures. Were you using a polarized filter? The camera seemed to be cutting through the surface glare nicely.

  • Thanks for a great season all around with MFCC, Ryan.
One request heading into next year. As a “visual” learner, I take in info from reading and watching. Listening to new information, such as podcasts, is difficult, my mind drifts and wanders. Anyway, I find myself wishing that the weekly podcast updates could be either posted as videos, or transcribed into written reports.
Just a thought, not sure if others notice the same thing.
    Thanks again!

    • And thank you Larry for following along all year! I really appreciate it.

Yes others have also mentioned they’d appreciate having the podcasts transcribed. The challenge has been finding someone who can transcribe the podcast in a timely manner. Perhaps I can get that going in the future. Thank you for the recommendation as I always appreciate new ideas and new ways to improve the content here on MFCC ?

  • With the weather changing in the next month those fish that are they are doing that will be down off The Jersey coast doing the same thing chasing the bait South. And up into Sandy Hook Bay and Raritan Bay. But we have one advantage in New Jersey. For the stripers and that is a game Fish law. No commercial fishing within 3 miles of the beach and none within the bay regions. And I think every state should have that the spawning would take place much better down in the Chesapeake if you kept the commercial guys out of the Chesapeake and and off the spawning beds

    • Thank you Phil for sharing your insights. I think anything we can do to help alleviate fishing pressure would be a good thing for the striper stock.

Gluck down south this fall. As you mention, all this life will soon be headed your direction!
