Vineyard Sound Fishing Report

I feel most at ease when walking through a beach environment as the sun is rising. Right now my favorite time to be outside is from 4:30AM - 6:30AM.

This early in the day I am usually all by myself, with the exception of the animals. The solitude, coupled with the stillness of the morning, helps keep me grounded.

Of course the fishing can be really good too.

My plan for this trip was to explore and fish a sheltered bay, as well as a wide open expanse of beach.

As I walked to my fishing destination, I pondered how every square mile, yard, foot and inch of this land contains life.

From bushes to bugs, and even a duck that I accidentally awoke from a deep sleep. All these organisms, plants and animals call this land home.

We spend so much of our lives living in a man made bubble. Building walls and car doors surround us for hours on end. Our feet walk on pavement and our butts sit on couches.

How refreshing it is for me, to detach myself from the alluringly convenient man made life, and spend a few hours enveloped by the natural, wild world.

The benefits of routinely engaging in this sort of activity have been astounding, and my life has improved tenfold, since making time spent in nature a #1 priority.
