The 5th Annual "Fluke vs Cancer" fundraiser is here, and we're aiming higher than ever before! Join the My Fishing Cape Cod community from July 12-27, 2025, as we work together to raise $20,000 for the pediatric cancer division at Boston Children's Hospital.
A Growing Legacy of Hope
What started as a small community effort has grown into something truly special. Over the past four years, the MFCC community has raised over $30,000 for pediatric cancer assistance and research at Boston Children's Hospital. Each year, we've watched this incredible cause gain momentum:
- 2021: Our first year - over $2,000 raised
- 2022: We doubled our impact - $5,000 raised
- 2023: Building strong - $7,000 raised
- 2024: Record-breaking year - nearly $16,000 raised (including a last-minute $4,000 corporate donation from Morgan Stanley)
Now, for 2025, we're setting our most ambitious goal yet: $20,000.
What This Means to us
As fundraiser organizer Bruno Demir shared about his own experience: "In 2016 I had to take my youngest child to Boston Children's Hospital to be checked for leukemia due to signs of the disease on his skin. It was the most humbling and scariest experience of my life. It turned out to be a false alarm and I was so grateful for the folks at BCH for their professionalism and expertise, best in the world in my opinion. We were one of the lucky families to walk out of the hospital that day, some were not. I made a promise that day that I would do my part in helping the fight against cancer."

- July 27, 2025: Fluke trip winners drawn and announced on the MFCC website
- August 1-8, 2025: Fluke trip will take place (exact date depends on weather and winners' schedules)
Past Winners and Their Adventures
The fluke trips have become legendary among MFCC members. Previous winners have experienced incredible days on the water, often catching multiple species and creating memories that last a lifetime. In 2022, the crews caught 8 different species in just one day!

The 2024 winners had an absolute blast fishing with Bruno and Eddy, bringing home coolers full of fluke and stories that will be told for years to come. But more importantly, they were part of something bigger - a community effort that directly impacts the lives of children dealing with cancer.
