Juvenile Great Blue Heron Filmed With Drone

I love catching fish, but I also love being out in nature and simply observing wildlife.

Here on Cape Cod we are blessed with diverse habitats and an array of different animal species, from great white sharks to piping plovers.

As I create season #3 of My Fishing Cape Cod TV, I am making sure to include as many nature and wildlife scenes as possible. One of my missions with the TV show is to foster an appreciation and respect of nature and wildlife.

Below is my latest nature clip of what I think is a juvenile great blue heron. I filmed this heron just before sunset on October 15th using my DJI Spark drone.

Most of our members in the forum think this is an immature great blue heron. What do you think? Please LMK by leaving a comment!

As I mentioned above, I am working to include as many nature and wildlife scenes as possible in the upcoming season #3 of My Fishing Cape Cod TV.

Our tv show will start airing again on Saturday and Sunday mornings during January and February on NBC SportsBOSTON.

Right now I am looking to team up with local and regional companies who care about the environment.

If you or your company would like to be a sponsor of the tv show, then please let me know by clicking here, and I will happily send you more information!

  • Beautiful drone footage. I think it’s great that you’re adding nature/wildlife to the fishing forum. I have had some unexpected wonderful moments when I was fishing or walking the beach. I have pictures and a short video of the deer I encountered at Hardings Beach, Mike and I helped rescue a sea turtle last Fall and I have a picture of a blue heron. Maybe we should start a nature thread on the forum? FYI the Wellfleet Audobon is very involved in rescuing sea turtles. I recently sent Lauren some info. Thanks

    • The more nature, the better! I will definitely consider a “nature” sub-forum for MFCC.

Anything we can do to help out the wildlife is always much appreciated. I believe Lauren reached out to Audobon today. ?

Thanks for watching and commenting Leslie!
