Summer Surfcasting Report with Ian McPartland of the Goose Hummock

by Kevin Collins

Cape Cod Surf Report From Ian McPartland

The 4th of July fireworks may be over, but the fishing action on Cape Cod is just heating up. On this edition of the My Fishing Cape Cod Podcast, Ian McPartland from the Goose Hummock Shop in Orleans gives the lowdown on surf casting conditions all around the Cape. Ian’s bread and butter is the beach, and after a soggy, blustery start to the week, he had plenty to report from the sand.

In this podcast, Ian goes into great detail on:

  • Big fish being caught earlier this week from the beach in Cape Cod Bay
  • Cape Cod south facing beaches not as consistent
  • Bonito spotted and caught around Provincetown
  • Report from the backside beaches of outer Cape Cod
  • Monomoy heating up from the boat
  • Giant bluefin tuna are here in force for boat anglers
  • Must have plugs for your surfcasting bag this week
