Late October Fall Run
Even as the calendar turns toward November, Cape Cod anglers are finding plenty of reasons to stay on the water. In this edition of the My Fishing Cape Cod Podcast, Amy Wrightson of Sports Port in Hyannis checked in with the latest on the two fisheries drawing the most attention right now: tautog and striped bass.
The weather has been cooperating, the weekend looks promising, and both fisheries have produced some nice surprises. Here is a full breakdown of where fish are being caught, what is working, and what to expect if you squeeze in one or two more trips before the season wraps up.
In this report, Amy goes into great detail on:
- Tautog in Nantucket Sound from the boat
- Tog taken from beaches, jetties, and kayaks off the south side
- South side striped bass from boat and beaches
- Striped bass pushing through the Monomoy Rips
- Fall scalloping and shellfishing opportunities
- Fresh water kettle ponds stocked with trout
