7 Ways MFCC Can Help You Catch More Fish During 2018

Daylight savings is less than one week away! On March 11 we change the clocks, and nine days later on March 20, we officially turn the calendar to spring.

Right now is one of the most exciting times of the year, at least it is for me, as well as for a lot of the members here on My Fishing Cape Cod.

Since launching myfishingcapecod.com in early 2011, I have had the pleasure of watching our community grow. I think one of the reasons why the website continues to grow each year, is because we are always looking for ways to make the website more valuable.

In this post I want to share with you 7 ways you can use myfishingcapecod.com to help you catch more fishing during 2018, and have a more fun and productive season.

1) Attend An April Meetup

I am quite pumped about our upcoming meetups! Our last meetup on February 11th was a great hit with 35 members in attendance. We all had a blast building our network and talking fishing.

The theme for our next meetup on Sunday April 8th is Fishing the Cape Cod Canal. Members who are interested in learning about fishing the canal are encouraged to attend. This will also be a great opportunity to network with other canal anglers from MFCC.

The theme for our meetup on Sunday April 29th is Bluefin Tuna Fishing. Members who are interested in learning about fishing for tuna are encouraged to attend. This will also be a great opportunity to network with other tuna anglers from MFCC.

2) Get Fishing Tips & Advice In Our Forum

Since 2012 our members have built our forum into one of the friendliest and most helpful fishing forums in the region. Whether you fish the canal for stripers or Stellwagen Bank for tuna, there is a place for you inside our forum. Watch the video below to see how you can get involved.

If you have not yet taken advantage of our forum, then I urge you to check it out. A good first step is to introduce yourself in the forum by clicking here

Right now is a great time to post questions to the forum. When the saltwater season really gets going, the forum will become a terrific resource for daily reports and updates shared by fellow members here on the site.

3) Discover New Areas

With My Fishing Cape Cod fishing reports, you can learn where to fish on Cape Cod (without spot burning).

Our reports include information on fishing the canal, Cape Cod Bay, Vineyard Sound, Nantucket Sound and Outer Cape Cod. We don't always mention exact spots, but if you follow along for any amount of time, then you'll quickly learn how to find your own secrets spots, hidden gems and productive fishing areas.

You can learn more by watching the video below.

Right now on the site we have over 1,000 reports containing trustworthy information and entertaining journalism. High resolution photography and video make you feel like you are out there on the water or at the beach, fishing on Cape Cod alongside myself and other members from MFCC.

4) Learn New Techniques

Here on My Fishing Cape Cod we have more than 600 videos about fishing the Cape. Our videos include tutorials and technical guidance about fishing techniques & strategies, plus loads of other Cape-specific information only available to members.

Check out the video above to learn more about how you can access our complete video database. If you have any questions then just let me know, I am always happy to help members.

If you like the videos we post on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, then our video database here on myfishingcapecod.com is for you. Plus my team and I are already working on new instructional videos which will be released over the coming months.

5) Join A Group Fishing Trip

Over the past two seasons we have run 40 group fishing trips with captain Cullen Lundholm of Cape Star Charters, and I plan on scheduling plenty more group fishing trips with Cullen for this upcoming season.

A typical striped bass charter on Cape Cod will cost you $800 and a typical tuna fishing charter will cost $1200. However, when you become a member of My Fishing Cape Cod, you can hop onboard one of these trips for as little as $250/person.

My Fishing Cape Cod group fishing trips give you access to one of the top charter captains on Cape at the most reasonable price possible. Not only will you catch fish during these trips, but you will also learn a lot about fishing on the Cape.

If you are a member and you are interested in reserving a spot onboard one of our 2018 group fishing trips, then please keep a close eye on your email over the coming weeks. I will be sending out more information about these trips to all of our members soon.

6) Watch A Seminar

In addition to the hundreds of reports and videos here on the site, members can also access online recordings of seminars I have given at events like the Rhode Island Saltwater Fishing Show and at other clubs throughout New England.

As long as you are logged-in to the website with your username and password, you will have full access to these seminars, many of which run for 45 minutes or longer.

Seminars here on the site include information about surfcasting the Cape, fishing the canal, inshore boat fishing on the Cape and even some information about my adventures down in Costa Rica.

Here are some quick links to our most popular seminars. Again, please make sure you are logged-in before clicking the links below:

7) Team Up With Me

Having access to all the great content here on myfishingcapecod.com can be hugely beneficial if you have the time to go through it all.

However, I understand there are members here on MFCC who would like more. These people have told me they want to fish together with me, whether it be from shore, on my boat, or on their own boat.

These people have also told me they would like more detailed information. I personally don't feel comfortable posting certain information online, but I would feel comfortable sharing this info with a small group of members who I can 100% trust to keep this information to themselves.

I am not sure exactly how I will structure a program to serve this type of member, but it will probably involve coaching calls, in-person meetings, online video lessons and guided fishing trips with me.

The length of this program would probably be around 8 weeks, and the cost of this program would be above and beyond the regular $9.99/month membership - especially if it includes personal coaching and guided trips.

If you think you might be interested in this sort of thing, then please click here to let me know, and I will send you more details as plans fall into place.

In Conclusion

We have a lot to look forward to this spring!

One thing I forgot to mention is that all episodes of My Fishing Cape Cod TV will be posted here on the website by mid-April. I was hoping to post the episodes sooner, but NBC has requested I wait until mid April - I hope you can understand.

Right now is the time to get your gear and tackle ready for 2018. The weather is warming up and it won't be too much longer until the bite gets going.

Tight lines!
