Hello My Fishing Cape Cod! My name is Billy Mitchell and I've been a member here on the website since June of 2014.

Over the years I've communicated with many of you here via the blog or within our forum. I've also had the pleasure of meeting and fishing with many MFCC members in-person!

During 2018 I launched my own personal website called Seven Stripes Fishing, where I share my own fishing reports, products, information about charter services, and most recently, interviews with local captains and people involved in the industry.

Last month I received a message from Ryan Collins, asking if I would be interested in sharing some of my interviews here with the MFCC community. I jumped at the opportunity, and today I would like to share with you the first of hopefully many more interviews to come.

In this interview, we chat with captain Dave Bitters, owner of Baymen Guide Services. We chat about fishing Plymouth and Cape Cod Bay, the romance of fly fishing, and becoming one with the outdoors.

  • I grew up in Duxbury and never took advantage of the salt water fishing there … spent my time on the ponds near my house hunting bucket-mouths. I’d like to get out with you this year for a charter trip … to re-discover the Bays …

    • Absolutely, Jeff. The bay fishes well all season. Let me know when a good time is for you and we can set something up.

  • Billy, enjoyed an interesting perspective on our home waters. I wish we knew where the big bass hide in the bay? Maybe in 2019 we’ll find out?

    • He’s so knowledgeable about the Three Bays, it was great to talk to him. I spoke with the guys from MA Striped Bass Association last night for a podcast and got some hints as to where they may be hiding! Podcast should be out next week.

Would be cool to get all of the anglers who fish Ply/Dux Bays together before the season to talk strategy. Really want to find the big fish this year.
