The Surfcasting Experience

The winner of this giveaway will be able to redeem this experience anytime between September 10th 2021, and June 15th 2022 based on availability. Not available during holiday periods. We are flexible and will work with your schedule.

For anyone who's never done it before, the thrill of hooking into a striped bass with both of your feet on the sand is oftentimes an experience that is never forgotten.

While there are never any guarantees in fishing, you can rest assured that I will do everything in my power to get you into some fish!

At the very least, we'll visit one of Cape Cod's most scenic areas, and will be surrounded by natural beauty. From seals to piping plovers, you never know what we may encounter while fishing the beach.

It's best if we can time the trip for a day when high tide occurs sometime after sunset. Typically I like to fish the incoming tide from just before sunset into dark, and then fish the first part of the outgoing.

The surfcasting trip will last between 6-8 hours and I can supply all rods, reels, lures and other necessary tackle and equipment.

Also, if the winner of this giveaway wants to purchase any equipment, then I will personally visit the Goose Hummock Shop in Orleans with you for an outfitting session. It should be fun!

The Bayside Resort

The winner of this giveaway will receive a free two night stay at the Bayside Resort, which was recently voted as one of the best hotels on Cape Cod.

The Bayside is located at 225 Route 28 in West Yarmouth, and it overlooks a beautiful and picturesque section of Lewis Bay.

The Bayside is a locally owned and managed property with the all amenities of the newest chain hotels plus the look, feel and charm of Cape Cod.

Their central location makes them a perfect home base for excursions, trips to the beach, golf or sightseeing. The hotel is located close to beaches, restaurants, shopping, ferries and many other Cape Cod attractions.

The Bayside also offers a variety of other Vacation Experience Getaways that will make your visit both fun and memorable!

Entering is easy and 100% free. All you have to do is leave a comment below and I will include your name for a chance to win.  You can also enter via the Bayside Resorts website, which you can view here. Either method of entry will work.

  • Can’t wait to experience the fishing on the cape. Fully retired in March of 2022. Twenty five years of working in an ER has taken its toll both physically and emotionally. Can’t wait to relax.

  • What a wonderful mini vacation giveaway. Count me in and thank you Ryan for all you do.

  • Love reading your blog. Being in NH I’ve only fished for stripers once this year on PI, and haven’t been to the Cape since COVID. I miss it.

  • I was a Member last year, but have not been able to get out and fish much the past couple of years ( Despite having a nice boat). Work and elderly parent care eats up all my time. I will join again next Spring. Love this group, best group of people on the Cape.
I Love that Ryan takes the time to clean up the spots he comes across that have litter.

  • Thanks for all the good scoop on fishing. As far as skate wings you are right and years past before truth in advertising skate wings were cut in circles and sold as scallops.

  • There is something special about fishing. It’s not always about what you catch. It’s the sunrisses and sunsets, the shooting stars and difference in the ocean movements. You can fish in the same spot and have so many diferent experienes or explore the vast amount of different speicies that roam our shore or deep ocean canyons. You never know what you will see or catch. And even if you catch nothing,it can still be a perfect experience,

  • Thanks for all the fishing tips. We love getting your newsletter. Hope to catch some good fish during our next visit to Cape
    The Gillis Family

Your love of the Cape and it’s natural beauty is clear for all your readers.

    Keep up the great work.

    Tight lines!!

  • Ahhh Ryan thanks for a sunny fishing forecast…all this rain sure is bleak. Just what I needed to pull out of the doldrums.
