Ryan Collins

MFCC Founder

We kick off this episode with a call to MFCC founder Ryan Collins who got smacked in the face yesterday by the winch on his boat trailer and cracked three teeth! Ryan has been finding plenty of small fish along the beaches at night, with bigger bass in his boat. He's also been hearing rumors of good tuna fishing at Stellwagen and "out east."

Jeff Miller

Canal Bait & Tackle

Next up is our good friend Jeff Miller of Canal Bait & Tackle. Jeff reports nonstop busy conditions at his store, with lots of anglers fishing and doing well at the canal and out in the boats. Fish are spread throughout the canal, and Jeff recommends arriving early before the boat traffic picks up. Soft plastics have been doing very well on bass, with some bluefish kicking around too.

Evan Eastman

Eastman's Sport & Tackle

Next is our friend Evan Eastman of Eastman's Sport & Tackle in Falmouth, MA who's had a great Fourth of July. It's been the busiest week of the year at the shop for Evan, with customers reporting lots of small stripers at Middle Ground and Succonnesset, and bigger fish down along the Elizabeth Islands. Big fluke and sea bass of 26 inches have also been caught. This is a must-listen for anyone planning on fishing the Vineyard Sound area this weekend.

Sam Brown

The Goose Hummock and TheMightyFish.com

Next up we welcome Sam Brown of the Goose Hummock Shops in Orleans and Dennis. Sam was fresh off the boat from an offshore trip to the canyons, where they hammered the bigeyes going 10 for 15, and 9 for 12 on yellowfin! Sam even managed a 120lb bigeye on the spinning rod. There are bluefin tuna in local Cape waters too, much closer to home than the canyons. Guys in boats have been hammering fluke at Nantucket Shoals and bass in the bay. Coast Guard, Nauset and the backside beaches have been producing stripers for families spending the day on the back beach.
