I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and I'd like to wish you a very happy New Year! Today I have a belated Christmas gift (in the form of a brand new discount code) for all My Fishing Cape Cod members.

If you love striped bass fishing, then "Running the Coast" is a must-see film. The journey begins in the Chesapeake Bay, and follows the fabled striped bass migration north to Maine.

Along the way you'll visit striper hot spots and get introduced to the many characters who religiously pursue striped bass. And now supporting members of My Fishing Cape Cod can use a new member-only discount code to get 20% off the cost of this film!

I first watched "Running the Coast" at a dinner party with MFCC members (and striper addicts) Dex Chadsey, Lori Rizzo, Brian McCarty, Alberto Pina and several of our non-striper-obsessed wives and girlfriends.

The film was perfect because we all shared a common interest in striper fishing. In addition the film does a great job of sharing the experience of being on the water, or on the beach, and is a terrific way of curing cabin fever during the winter off-season months.

Thank you to film producer Jamie Howard for extending a generous discount code to members here on My Fishing Cape Cod. I really appreciate it!

If you have a Cape Cod or fishing related product or service, and you would like to grant members of My Fishing Cape Cod a discount, then please contact me and let me know.

Tight lines and Happy New Year!

  • I had a chance to talk with Jamie Howard last week. One thing I really like – his passion to protect striped bass outweighs the desire to catch them. This film is a message about the importance of species preservation. I always loved the Jerry Dennis quote “Fishing – it makes us participants instead of spectators in nature; a crucial distinction because participants become passionate and protective, while spectators become indifferent.” I think Jamie did an amazing job showcasing the passion and excitement that goes along with the pursuit of striped bass. Hopefully this will inspire more people to be conservation minded.
