Surfcasting for Stripers is on Fire! [VIDEO]

I love my life! However the past 72 hours has been extremely difficult...

I have missed out on 2 epic shoreline bass bites. Both of the unreal blitzes occurred when 20+ pound striped bass cornered football field size schools of peanut and adult bunker against the beach.

Odds are you probably know this familiar feeling! However we all manage to survive and I know this despair is temporary.

We Are Still Very Fortunate..

Even though I missed these incredible bites I still feel very fortunate, and I feel you should too. Isn't it terrific to know that these events are taking place?

We are certainly fortunate to have these big fish! Especially within reach of shore.

In the meantime here is a video recapping the good surfcasting bite which I was able to experience this past Saturday. These fish are still here from what I am hearing, and I hope to get back on them soon.

Throughout the video I will also share some pointers and tips for locating and catching striped bass this week from shore on Cape Cod.

  • There is no substitute for putting the time and effort in to find the fish. It’s very easy this time of year to kick back on the couch and watch TV, but I’d much rather be fishing. Except for a couple if days last week I have not missed a morning at the canal and have been rewarded with fish. When I tell people I’m still catching fish, they say, “what no way they’re still out there”. It ain’t over yet my friend.

    • That is great to hear Mark!

I think we are in for a long fall season. There’s so much peanut bunker around, plus I feel there have just been a lot of fish in the Canal area all season long.

Perhaps some will stick around until Thanksgiving? I guess we will wait and see!

  • I love the video. What a great website this is. I just joined and I’m addicted. I’m dying to get out again. My buddies and I had a great weekend on the north facing beaches with the wind right in our faces. The 40 mile an hour winds pushed the bait and fish right up on the shore. Nothing too big, but the fish were in thick. Thanks for all the information and the fun videos and reports.

    • Awesome! Very happy you are enjoying MFCC Pete and it is great to have you onboard.

Kudos to you guys for sticking it out in those waves and wind. I am not sure how the heck you pulled that off! I wimped out and retreated to calmer areas.

      Gluck this week/weekend!
