The Surfcaster’s Guide to Fishing Boston Harbor

Every so often I like to publish learning materials for off-Cape fishing locations.

Today I am very excited to share with you a new visual guidebook for surfcasting in and around Boston Harbor.

The information in this guidebook came directly from Capt. Sam Streubel of S.O.S. Fishing Charters. Sam has been fishing Boston since the age of 14.

This guidebook is perfect for My Fishing Cape Cod members who want to learn about exploring and surfcasting Boston Harbor and its surrounding shorelines.

  • working late days in boston this is exactly what i am looking for i don’t get to get down the cape as much as i wanted so surfcasting boston dorchester and quincy is my big focus area

  • Thanks Capt. Streubel for the guide. My daughter moved to Dorchester near Neponset River, Route 3A. I would like to explore the area a little bit this summer and your guide is what I needed as a start. Do you know of any ramp that I can use for a 14′ craft?

    • You can launch off rocky beach On Morriessy blvd. in Dorchester. Boat ramps in Quincy Houghes neck with small parking lot . We launch at Wessagusset State ramp in Weymouth for a fee, Hingham got a nice ramp free of charge.
