Spring 2017 Fishing Trips & Events

Ryan Collins

It's been a great winter! I have had a ton of fun meeting My Fishing Cape Codders at seminars and shows.

Now with spring right around the corner I figured it would be a good time to let everyone know about our springtime group fishing trips and events.

To be specific, I want to make sure everyone knows about the 6 group fishing trips we have scheduled for May, as well as the 4th annual MFCC Breakfast on April 30th.

Group Fishing Trips for the month of May

Our first group fishing trip of the season will be Friday May 12th. Just like last year we will run these trips every Friday morning during the month of May. In addition, we will also run special Sunday morning group fishing trips, for people who are not able to fish on Fridays.

All of these trips are with our friend captain Cullen from Cape Star Charters.

During these May trips you will most likely cast plugs or live-line mackerel in Buzzard's Bay. You may also fish Cape Cod Bay depending on where the bass setup.

These trips will be an excellent opportunity to catch your first striped bass of the season, while learning from one of the Cape's best charter captains. The cost for a spot onboard one of these trips is $176-$230 per person. MFCC members can use their discount code to receive a 20% discount.

Registration for May group fishing trips will begin later this month. Last year all the spots onboard these trips sold out very quickly.

If you are interested in fishing onboard one of these group trips, then please make sure to join the "Early Bird List" by clicking the button below.

4th Annual MFCC Breakfast

On Sunday April 30th we will kick-off the spring fishing season by having our annual My Fishing Cape Cod Breakfast at the Brookside Club in Bourne, MA.

This is a great way to meet other My Fishing Cape Codders, share a good meal, win cool prizes and raise money for a special cause (more details on this year's special cause coming soon).

All are welcome to attend this year's breakfast, including your family, friends and fishing buddies. 2017 is shaping up to be a great season, and I hope to see you next month for this breakfast kick-off!

Please register online by clicking below. As a thank you for registering online before April 1st, you will automatically be added to a special raffle for a chance to win a free surfcasting trip with me sometime this spring.

Other Events

There are several more upcoming events which I would also like to share with you. Please check out the list below:

  • On Wednesday March 22nd I will be speaking about spring fishing on Cape Cod, with my friend Garet at the Cape Cod Salties meeting, at 528 Forest Rd., West Yarmouth. Doors open at 6pm with our presentation beginning around 7pm, after the business portion of the Salties meeting. All My Fishing Cape Codders are welcome to attend, and I encourage you to also consider joining the Salties, which is one of the oldest fishing groups on the Cape.
  • On Saturday March 25th My Fishing Cape Cod will have its first-ever booth at the Plum Island Surfcaster's Show in Newburyport, MA. I have heard excellent things about this group, and I am super pumped to have a booth at this show. Please swing by and say hello if you are in the area.
  • On the evening of Thursday March 30th I have been invited to speak at the Osterville Angler's Club about a season of fishing on Cape Cod. This will be my first time visiting the OAC and I am very excited to meet this group. I am also happy to report that the Osterville Angler's have opened up 25 seats at their meeting to members of the My Fishing Cape Cod community. If you would like to attend, you must register online ahead of time by clicking here.
  • The last fishing show of the season for me is the Massachusetts Striped Bass Expo at the University Sports Complex in Hanover on April 1-2. My Fishing Cape Cod will have a booth at this show for the second year in a row. I will also host two seminars about fishing on Cape Cod. This has turned into one of the top shows in the region so please swing on by if you are in the area.

Please be sure to keep an eye on our calendar for more events > https://myfishingcapecod.com/calendar/
