44 Pound Striped Bass Filmed On Drone

It all started with a text from Zach Lesinski of 2020 Sky Sight Productions, asking if I wanted to do some fishing and drone filming.

48 hours later I stumbled across a huge concentration of large striped bass while performing recon onboard my boat the Miss Loretta.

I immediately messaged Zach and told him we should meet at sunrise the very next day. Zach happily agreed, and at 6am he stepped onboard with drone in hand.

Soon Zach had launched the drone, and on our second drift my dad Jake hooked up with what would turn out to be the largest striped bass of our season.

Incredibly Zach was able to capture the entire experience on video using his drone, which you can watch by clicking play below.

Special thanks to Zach from 2020 Sky Sight for an amazing job filming this video. I look forward to capturing many more fishing adventures on drone with help from Zach.

While watching the above video you  may have noticed I cropped out the background scenery. I did this because I want to share this video on Facebook and I expect it to be viewed by many hundreds of people.

  • That is awesome footage! Were you marking a lot of fish when you hooked up on that one?
Notice you had the handline…any luck?
Good luck landing a giant this weekend!

    • Yes we had fish all over the sounder when we hooked that one.

I did catch a fish on the handline but it was a schoolie. Go figure! 44 pounders and small schoolies all traveling together.

No tuna caught at PEI but we had giants crashing around the boat and swimming beneath the boat on the sounder. Several boats around us also hooked up, just didn’t happen for us but we’ll try again.
