Ever wanted to fish Alaska? Then this bonus podcast episode is for you! In this show we chat with My Fishing Cape Cod member Bruno Demir who just returned from the adventure of a lifetime, fishing the wilds of Alaska for salmon, huge rainbow trout and more - all while surrounded by brown bears.

What an experience! I really enjoyed listening to your recollections.
Late last summer I was chatting with my wife and made an off-hand comment to the effect if “I’ll miss the kids when they’re grown, but am also looking forward to being able to plan extended fishing trips… I’d love to visit Alaska.” Lucky man that I am she responded with, “Why do you have to wait until they’re grown? Book a trip ya dummy!”
I did some research, watched a lot of videos, read a lot of reviews, and after several weeks of indecision pulled the trigger on a trip to Kodiak for 6 days/7 nights. Boy was it tough to pick a location (i.e., Inland and freshwater, coastal and salt, mix of both, Juneau and Islands, Anchorage-Homer-Kodiak?). Ultimately I landed on Kodiak; I’ll be at a place called Alaskan Sportsman’s Lodge this July. I decided to focus on saltwater exclusively but it was really difficult. I’m planning on doing this annually and would love to hook up with a group.
Hey Chris, thanks for listening! I’m glad you enjoyed this episode of the podcast. Sounds like you have an awesome wife! I like her attitude. Why wait is right!
Please let us know how the trip goes. I am sure there are some other members here on MFCC who might be interested in teaming up with you for a future Alaska adventure.
I just spent a week at a remote Alaskan camp too! Most fantastic experience of my life!!!
That’s awesome Vince! I actually just read your Alaska report from inside our forum. Thanks for sharing your experience with the members inside the forum. I really appreciate it! What a great 60th birthday present for your brother.
