My Fishing Cape Cod on NBC Sports BOSTON

Ryan Collins

I can remember catching my first fish as if it was yesterday, and I bet you can too. For people like you and I, fishing is a passion that flows through our veins.

When I was a little boy, I always dreamed about somehow turning my passion for fishing into an actual career.

My "fishing career" officially began when I was 14 years old. During my teenage years I worked at a bait shop for $6/hour, boxing seaworms and devouring the information, tips and advice shared by the shop's owner and patrons.

My first saltwater fish - a mackerel caught onboard the Captain John out of Plymouth.

Weighing in a bluefish at "One Shot Bait & Tackle" where I worked as a youngster.

A lot has happened between then and now, but eventually my passion for fishing transmuted into what you see here on myfishingcapecod.com.

The videos and stories I've published here on MFCC over the past 6 years have come straight from the heart, and now the time has come to share this passion with an audience of 4.8 million households.

What To Expect In Our
First Season

Our TV show is in its infancy and just getting started. The first-ever season will launch in January 2018 on NBC Sports BOSTON. Episodes will air weekly, Saturdays at 9:30am, with replays on Sunday.

Before you dive any deeper into this post, I want to let you know that this TV show will not be one giant "spot burn."

Instead this show will be an inspirational, educational and entertaining look at fishing around the Cape & Islands. The show will be an extension of the content you already find here on myfishingcapecod.com.

Joining Our Team

Creating a TV fishing show requires a lot of work. There is a film and production crew, air time and countless other expenses that need to be paid. Without help from sponsors, no TV show would ever get up and off the ground.

That's why it makes me happy to report that the following local companies have already hopped onboard as official team sponsors!

In return for helping to cover the bills, these businesses will get featured in our show, on our website, social media and email blasts which reach thousands of passionate anglers and Cape Cod enthusiasts each and every week.

If your company is interested in joining the My Fishing Cape Cod team and helping us create something special, then you can get in right now at the very beginning at a fraction of what it would cost to sponsor a more established fishing show.

It can be helpful to compare My Fishing Cape Cod TV to On The Water TV - except we are currently where On The Water TV was fifteen years ago, when On The Water TV was in its infancy and just getting started.

Coming Soon...

In the coming weeks I will blog more about the show, our goals, and how members of the My Fishing Cape Cod community can get involved.

This new TV project has been a long time in the making and I am very much looking forward to watching it develop!

I hope you'll join us and follow along with updates about the show posted here on the blog, and of course by tuning-in this coming winter.

Tight lines!

  • congrats on your new venture Ryan…..Don’t know you personally but you seem like a sincere and humble person. That other guy on tv, Charlie something is the polar opposite. I think you can learn from him as to how not to act. You’ll do well. Looking forward to a good, quality local fishing show. phil don
