Continued from the post Sunrise Stripers | April 30 Right from the bite I knew this bass was going to be the largest of the season. Granted I have not caught any monsters as of yet, but this early in the year anything over 20 inches feels good.

Extended Sunrise Stripers | April 30
April 26, 2013

After a week of trudging around in the muck, rain, wind and cold (and some sun yesterday) I encountered a small school of migratory stripers this evening – and even managed to hook a couple of them. These fish were bright, clean and crawling with sea lice.

Continued from the post Migratory Stripers are Here The next fish also put up a fairly decent fight for his size. I find it interesting how much more life these bass had, contrasted to the holdovers of last week. The fight from the holdover bass was much more sluggish, while these guys gave it 110%.

Cape Cod fishing report for April 17 Today’s Cape Cod surf fishing trip began with my alarm going off at 4:30AM. As is typically the case, I popped right out of bed because I knew I was going fishing. I think you may agree with me that it is much easier to roll out of

April 18, 2013

Continued from the post Cape Cod Fishing Report for Upper & Mid Cape Cod The first area I decided to head to was Nantucket Sound. The water in Nantucket Sound warms up quicker than the water of Cape Cod Bay. That plus the fact that migratory bass moving up from the south will enter Nantucket Sound

During 2012 we enjoyed some phenomenal mackerel fishing.  Massachusetts Bay was loaded with mackerel, from Stellwagen Bank all the way through the Cape Cod Canal.  I personally believe that our inshore ecosystem was extremely healthy during 2012, which in turn attracted mackerel in hordes. If you spent any time inside Cape Cod Bay during the
