Continued from the post Cape Cod Bay Fishing Report | May 7 I turned the bow and pointed it eastward, to where we hoped we would find some bass. We had a fair amount of sunlight left, but I couldn’t help but feel slightly pressed for time. We had plenty of bait – what we

Today’s Cape Cod fishing trip actually began last night, with a trip to the Cape Cod Canal. It’s still early for the Big Ditch, but with the nice weather we’ve been having I just couldn’t help myself. I arrived at the Canal last night around 7pm and fished right until 10:30pm. We’ll talk more about

May 4, 2013

Continued from the post Best Fishing Trip of the Season | May 4 The wind began to pick up a bit as I walked towards the opening of the estuary. The calendar said May but to be honest, this morning felt more like October. The air had that crisp and cool sensation to it, which

This morning was clear, calm and cool – especially at 4AM. My plan was to fish an estuary and hopefully raise a few striped bass to the surface by fishing with top water plugs.

Migratory Stripers are Here
April 26, 2013

Continued from the post Migratory Stripers are Here The next fish also put up a fairly decent fight for his size. It’s 6:05am right now and I am watching the sun rise out of Cape Cod Bay. The Bay is flat calm, and the rays of orange and pink refract off the water as if it is a pane of glass. The terns are chirping, and there is a gull splashing around at the water’s edge.

I can hear the wind tearing across Cape Cod Bay as I write this Cape Cod fishing report. It feels like a winter night here, and it sounds like one too. 46 degree waves are smashing the shoreline and the rain is pelting down – today would not be a good day for the boat.
