I've received a fair amount of emails recently about fishing from the beach. With the economy the way it is, and gas prices way up, it is no surprise that many of you guys and gals are opting to fish from the sand instead of heading out on a boat. Luckily for all of us, Cape Cod has a ton of great places to wet a line from shore.
I originally hoped to be able to catch at least one striped bass from each of the Cape's beaches by the end of the 2011 season. I recently realized that this is just not going to happen. To be honest, it was a great idea, but I just don't have the time to make it happen.
What I do still plan on doing is creating a one-stop resource for Cape Cod shore bound fishermen. Over time I'll highlight some of the fantastic surfcasting opportunities Cape Cod has to offer. From the famous Cape Cod Canal to the little known back bays and spits of sand that litter this fishy penninsula.
I hope you are able to discover a new spot or technique to try from shore on your next Cape Cod surfcasting adventure. Cape Cod has a lot to offer the shore bound fishermen. You can catch the fish of a lifetime on Cape Cod, without ever stepping foot on a boat!
Tight lines and lets catch some fish from the beach!
