Merry Christmas and Happy Belated Hanukkah

Can you believe it is almost 2013?  Seems like just yesterday I was part of fleet of boats trolling a tube and worm under a hot mid-July sun.  Time sure does fly.

I want to take a quick second here, and thank you for checking out the MFCC blog during 2012.  2012 was a year of ups and down (mostly ups!) for me, and your support throughout the season was awesome.  Because of this blog I was able to meet a lot of quality folks who live and fish here on Cape Cod.  I also met many people from across the United States who come to the Cape each summer to fish.

Happy Holidays from Lauren, myself and Iz the cat...

I even met a few folks from Australia, Europe and Canada.  It's been a cool ride to say the least!

I also want to take a second to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a belated Happy Hanukkah.  I hope you have a wonderful Holiday and an incredible New Year.

I also owe a big thanks to all MFCC members.  I started the membership side of the blog back in April with a whopping membership base of ZERO-lol.  Now here we are in late December with just over 150 members.  I could not be any happier with how things have grown and I look forward to continuing to build the MFCC community throughout 2013.

And to everyone who is a MFCC fan on Facebook and a follower of MFCC on Twitter, I also owe you a big thanks for becoming part of those communities.  I think we have something special here in the making and I'm very excited to see how the MFCC Facebook and Twitter communities grow throughout the New Year.

So with all that in mind thank you!

Christmas on Cape Cod

I have had a pretty busy winter thus far, but if all goes according to plan I will be able to sneak away for a shot at some winter holdover striped bass either tomorrow or later this week.  I know there have been some small fish as well as small keepers caught so far this winter on the Cape.  Incredibly some bass decide for some reason to winter over within the Cape's many marshes and estuaries.

If I am lucky enough to find some winter stripers this week, you will definitely be the first to know about it-so stay tuned.

Until then I wanted to share a new blog that my incredible girlfriend Lauren began not too long ago.  Lauren is an amazing chef and cooks some unreal food for me just about every night.

Boy oh boy am I spoiled.

Throughout the summer of 2013 you can expect to see some delicious seafood recipes featured on her new blog Creatively Delish.  I think her blog will actually compliment quite well with what we have going on here at MFCC.  For all you seafood eaters out there stay tuned, because Lauren is pretty damn talented when it comes to seafood.

I on the other hand, am pretty clueless in the kitchen.  However I can piece together a decent lobster roll every now and again.

And what better way to spend Christmas Eve, than with a Cape Cod lobster roll?  Fortunately for me Lauren decided to feature my lobster roll recipe on Creatively Delish and you can check it out by clicking on the image below.

Have a great Christmas everyone and enjoy!
