Heart Breaking | Cape Cod Tuna Fishing Report October 17

We got tight with a nice fish yesterday afternoon. And then this happened...

It was pretty heart breaking losing an estimated 300 plus pound tuna less than 20 feet from the boat. In time I know I will get over it.

For more information on where and how we were fishing yesterday, check out the full report by clicking below.

  • Ryan, Are those black things , on your line, the anti chafe sinker that is sold at fisherman’s outfitter ? How do you rig them, and how do they work?

    • It is an anti chafe sinker, which we refer to as a “tuna bomb”

We made these ourselves, but yet you can purchase them from various tackle shops.

When a fish hits, the tuna bomb slides down the line and sits in the tuna’s mouth, helping to prevent chaffing.
