Ryan Collins
I arrived at the beach this morning, about twenty minutes after the sunrise.
As soon as I parked my car I noticed several birds dive bombing bait on the north side of a nearby rock jetty. Instantly I ran down to the water - no time for waders!
At first I thought all the fish were schoolie stripers, but then suddenly (and without any warning) a half dozen albies tore through the frantic school of peanut bunker which was pinned up against the jetty.

Ryan I ordered those hooks from Tackle Warehouse.
Terrific, thanks!
I will add a link to those hooks in the tutorial.
Nice one! get the fly rod replaced yet? plan to be down there this weekend… hope they stick around
I have not gotten the fly rod replaced yet, but hopefully soon. I hear the Vineyard is on fire right now for albies.
I also have your guest blog post formatted and almost ready to publish. Looking great!
Stage Harbor might be worth a try when you come down. I heard secondhand the albies were in there the past couple days.
Beauton!! maybe i will bring the yak. i’ll be down Sat night and probably try a morning run on Sunday if you’re looking for something to do… with all that free time you have. 🙂
I may poke around somewhere tomorrow Doug. Found a fair amount of albies today off the East End of the Canal with lots of schoolie bass mixed in. Not sure where I might go tomorrow but I’ll shoot you a text if I head out.
Wet sneakers are worth it. Nice catch.
Absolutely 🙂
