September Albie Fishing in Nantucket Sound

by Gretchen Stiers

This report was first shared on September 5th inside the 2024 Albie Updates & Reports section of the My Fishing Cape Cod forum.

On Wednesday September 4th, I was fortunate to fish with Capt. Tyler Putney of Flatliner Charters (@Flatliner) and three other members of MFCC, including Jean Lapiene (@lapiene) and Neville Anthony (@Njastriperb) for False Albacore and Bonito.

We left from the Bass River/Smuggler’s beach boat ramp at sunrise and headed west toward Point Gammon.

As the sun came up, we started to see birds and Albies jumping near the Bishop and Clerks Light but they were too close to the rocks for us to fish.
