This past weekend I had the fortunate opportunity to be a part of the Stars and Stripers Fishing Tournament.
This was the 7th annual tournament, which helps to raise money for the New England Patriots Alumni Club.
The New England Patriots Alumni Club leverages retired players’ leadership, discipline, and commitment to inspire success in today's youth. The club organizes dozens of free youth football events throughout New England.
Needless to say I was pretty pumped to be a captain in the tournament! To really top things off, I would be captaining a 21' custom wrapped Mako, thanks to my good friend Blake Phillips of Bass Pro Shops, Foxborough.

This was no doubt the sleekest boat I have operated in a long time! The boat looked great and the engine worked flawlessly.
My crew for the tournament included Cameron Fleming, who plays as an offensive lineman for the Patriots. I also had Eric and Mike from Springfield, MA.
These guys had won spots onboard through a raffle held by Bass Pro. I had a really great time fishing with this crew, and I had a lot of fun getting to know everyone.
Overall the tournament was a great success!
I owe a big thank you to Pete Brock from the Patriots Alumni Club and Blake Phillips from Bass Pro in Foxborough for granting me the opportunity.
Now it's time to talk about the fishing.
The rest of this report will focus on what we encountered, and where we went, as well as information about the tackle and techniques used.
This trip also turned into quite the adventure!
Great write up! I just learned how to live line mackerel, sounds like I can do the same thing with Scup! My son will love catching scup and then using them to catch bass. Can’t wait….I’m 3 days away!!!!
Absolutely Rick!
Sounds like you are probably already here on Cape. Gorgeous weather for your arrival.
Tight lines!
Great report!!
Thanks Ryan!
Super Bowl day. Love that boat.
Pretty awesome boat to say the least.
Great story Ryan
Very happy you enjoyed Mark.
