We picked a fantastic day for our striper fishing trip on Wednesday, August 14th. The weather was perfect and the fish were biting!
It was also kind of nice having the slightly later departure time of 10am vs having to wake up early for most of the other group trips being offered by Ryan and My Fishing Cape Cod.
Our trip left out of Bass River and the directions & parking provided by Ryan via email the night before were easy to follow and understand (note: as warned by Ryan, we were required to pay $20 for the Town of Dennis Beach parking).
Our captain for this trip was a great guy named Tyler Putney of Flatliner Charters. Tyler knew exactly where to go for our target fish of both Stripers and Bonito. We had a total blast with this captain!
Bonito was a relatively new type of fish to the four MFCC anglers on this boat. No one onboard had caught Bonito in the past so we were all looking forward to the challenge.
We left the pier right on time and were out on Nantucket Sound in minutes.
