Giant Tuna On Spinning Gear | 4hr Battle Ends In Heartbreak VIDEO

There is nothing more exciting than seeing 500 pound giant bluefin tuna going airborne and crashing on the surface, as they chase bait at max speed.

This was the exact scenario myself and MFCC member Aaron Permlutter found ourselves in last Sunday while fishing with Cullen from Cape Star Charters.

Giant tuna were crashing the surface when we hooked a fish that was probably 95 inches long and potentially heavier than 500lbs. We battled the tuna for 4hrs on spinning tackle before losing it at the boat!

  • Ryan, Aaron, and Cullen – great video, even though I knew the outcome before clicking play, it was exciting to watch things unfold and to observe how you guys fought the fish…wow! Then to see the emotion and disappointment you all felt after losing the fish, shows your passion for fishing and appreciation for every chance you have to get on the water. I appreciate being able to learn from someone like that.
