South of MV with Rolland Zeleny
On July 28th Rolland Zeleny headed south of Martha's Vineyard, arriving at the Gulley bright and early at 5:40 AM.
With the sun barely up, he set up a troll at 6.5 knots. The action was immediate – a rainbow daisy chain down the middle short got hit right away. Just 15 minutes later, the green side tracker was also buzzing.
After trolling for another hour, Rolland switched tactics and started jigging.
"A few others hooked up. About 60 boats there and more at Tuna Ridge," Rolland said.
Rolland and his crew caught four bluefin tunas in the 33-35 inch range. According to Rolland the waters were teeming with life and he reported seeing lots of whales and dolphins, which made it an unforgettable experience.

East of Chatham with Daniel Rice
On July 27th Danny Rice had an exciting trip with his fishing buddy and fellow MFCC member Dave Tourigny. Daniel couldn't stop singing praises of Dave, stating, "What a Captain. He always puts me on fish."
The guys got the job done with a solid 62-inch bluefin. The Regal Sword came through for them once again as they fished in fog so thick they couldn't see their middle bar.
The guys started trolling but quickly switched over to bait, which did the trick. The thick fog added an element of mystery and challenge, but their efforts were rewarded.

Surfcasting with Robbie Sturtevant
On July 27th Robbie Sturtevant had a solid outing, finding a great bite with some really nice bass in the mix.
"Once the window opened, it was every cast for the better part of an hour," Robbie reported.
Using an SS parrot darter and needle, Robbie enjoyed a flurry of action. The best part? Not a soul in sight except for his girlfriend, who doubled as his personal photographer.
However, every adventure has its hurdles. Robbie took a treble in his thumb past the barb but, in his words, it was "worth it!"

Jim Richardson's Family Day Out
On July 28th Jim Richardson had an eventful Saturday fishing with his wife. They arrived at Monomoy around slack and made their way around the point.
The duo boated 14 fish using a combination of Hogy Protails, Hogy Charter Grade Poppers, and on the fly using sinking line.
Despite marking bigger fish on the bottom, the constant topwater action was too tempting to resist. It was an exciting day of fishing for Jim and his better half.
"Definitely marked bigger fish on the bottom, but the constant topwater action both in front and in the rip was too tough to turn down," Jim shared.
