Ryan Collins

MFCC Founder

We start this podcast with a call to Ryan who was on his way to meet MFCC member John Malloy for a night of brown shark fishing from shore. Ryan's also been targeting albies from shore, but he reports the fish to be frustratingly finicky. Peanut bunker are in Cape Cod Bay and also along the inlets of the Sounds.

Evan Eastman

Eastman's Sport & Tackle

Next up is our good friend Evan Eastman of Eastman's Sport & Tackle in Falmouth, MA. Evan reports that albies and bonito are all over Vineyard Sound, the Falmouth, Woods Hole, and Buzzard's Bay region. Fortunately for anglers fishing Buzzard's Bay, the albies are less finicky because the peanut bunker in Buzzard's Bay are larger than the bait in Vineyard and Nantucket Sound.

Sam Brown

The Goose Hummock

We then check-in with Sam Brown of the Goose Hummock Shops in Orleans and Dennis. Folks down at the Goose are gearing up for albies and bonito in Nantucket Sound. Same also talks bluefin tuna, in preparation for the commercial tuna season re-opening on September 1st. The Goose Hummock also has a lot of great deals available this Labor Day Weekend, and Sam goes through them all in detail.

Jeff Miller

Canal Bait & Tackle

We wrap up today's episode with a call to Jeff Miller of Canal Bait & Tackle, and as always, Jeff provides us with a full Cape Cod Canal fishing report. According to Jeff, albies are on the threshold of entering the Canal, as they have been feeding outside the West End. Finally some bigger bass moved into the canal this past week, with fish of 45-50 inches taken on Thursday.
