Cape Cod Tuna Fishing Report | Week of 9/28

It’s been an interesting season for Cape Cod tuna fishing. Depending on who you talk to the bite has been either epic, nonexistent, or somewhere in between.

The months of September and October are historically two of the best for tuna fishing on Cape Cod. In past seasons the Cape has been inundated with smaller tuna less than 200 pounds, crashing on half beaks and a variety of other bait fish throughout early fall. The giant tuna bite on whiting has also been good in years past.

Of course who knows what’s in store for this fall…

I can remember one special season where my Dad, my buddy and I hooked up with a tuna off Provincetown on December 5. So, you just never know how long the fish may stick around.

Either way right now is prime time for Cape Cod tuna fishing. In this report we’ll talk about the past week’s tuna bite and also take a glance forward at what to expect in the coming 7 days.
