Kevin Collins
Welcome to the 22nd edition of the 2016 season My Fishing Cape Cod Podcast.
I'm your friendly host Kevin Collins glad to be back with you for another week. It's hard to believe it but the month of September is in full swing.
As always we have a full slate of contributors on this week's podcast. You will hear about the action at the Canal and throughout all of Cape Cod. In this episode we also cover Martha's Vineyard and the offshore tuna/canyons bite.
We start off this episode with MFCC creator Ryan Collins who finally caught a keeper striper on his fly rod from Goose Hummock.
Ryan also continues to find good striper action inshore from the 12 foot tin boat, and has witnessed large schools of peanut bunker moving along the Cape's beaches.
Next we hear from Martha's Vineyard resident Brian McCarty, who gives us a full forecast of what is to come in this year's MV Derby, which starts this Sunday, September 11th.
Brian also lets us know what is happening fish-wise all around the island. Surfcasting on MV is still producing quality stripers in the 20lb and up class.
Of course no podcast would be complete without captain Eric Stewart from the Goose Hummock Shops in Orleans and Dennis, who fills us in on the red hot yellowfin tuna bite.
According to Eric, bass fishing on the Outer Cape remains solid. Ablies are also starting to push in heavy, and the Goose now has a fully stocked Albie and Bonito section at their shop in Orleans.
Finally we wrap things up with Jeff Miller of Canal Bait & Tackle who says many MFCC members have been stopping into the shop, and sharing their success stories from this past week of fishing at he Canal.
According to Jeff the Canal was red hot before tropical storm Hermine. As expected the storm churned up the Canal's water making it murky, but things are settling out now, with some huge bluefish over 15 pounds showing up in the Ditch.

I just relocated to Onset Ma from Arizona and I am very very excited to be so lucky to be in an area to catch some great fish. I know very little on tackle, lures or areas to fish. I am hoping this will give me the pointers needed to be sucessfull. I dream of the day I personally haul in a great striper. You and your videos get me reved up.. I can not wait.. Any pointers will be greatly appreciative and if ever you need a extra body to go fishing with this sailor is ready..
Have a great fishing day

Hi Mark!
Great to have you onboard MFCC. I think the most important thing for you in the early stages of your striper career, will be to enjoy “the hunt” and the learning process.
MFCC will be a great tool for you. Be sure to attend our events and monthly MeetUps, which I hope to launch in 2017 after the New Year.

Not only can you catch stripers in the Onset area (especially if you have a boat) but you can also catch bluefish, sea bass, tautog, and albies….depending on the season of course.
Continue following along with us and you will soon learn the ins and outs, and begin figuring out the details. All in due time.
Tight lines Mark and thank you!
