Everything You Need To Catch Tuna Off Cape Cod

Back in 2018 myself and a group of 40 members from My Fishing Cape Cod got together at the Fishermen's View Restaurant for an in-person meetup about tuna fishing off Cape Cod.

In attendance were Chris Nashville from the Goose Hummock Shops and Cullen Lundholm from Cape Star Charters. Both of these guys have a lot of tuna fishing experience.

The goal of the meetup was to provide a forum where members of MFCC could ask Chris and Cullen detailed questions about the best baits, areas, equipment and techniques for catching tuna off the Cape.

We recorded the hour plus long discussion on video and today I wanted to make it available again here on My Fishing Cape Cod.

I'm fortunate to have grown up on the beach, and I've been fishing since kindergarten. I have great family, friends and fishing experiences to be thankful for. Just being out there is enough-catching fish is just a bonus!

  • Was very interesting talk about Tuna fishing. I personally am not looking for giants but smaller tuna myself. I do go to SWC of bank occasionally and await the day I get a bite. The video was good but it would be helpful for those of us that cannot attend when sending around the jigs and other lurers for those attending to also consider showing them up close to the camera for us viewers to see as well. A nice video maybe someday I will get to catch a smaller tuna. thanks for sharing with members.

    • Roger Roger. That is a good tip Jerry, getting close-ups of the lures etc. I will keep that in mind for future meetup videos.

Keep at it! September and especially October are usually the best months of the entire year for tuna fishing at Stellwagen. Especially if you are targeting school size fish with spinning gear.
