Welcome to the 23rd edition of the 2016 season My Fishing Cape Cod Podcast.

I'm your friendly host Kevin Collins glad to be back with you for another week. Mid-September has arrived and the fishing is firing on all cylinders.

What you'll hear in today's podcast is why September is the favorite month for many anglers on Cape Cod. Get out there now while the bite is hot.

First we chat with MFCC creator Ryan Collins, in the midst of a false albie shore bite. According to Ryan the albie schools were pushing up into the surf as we were recording this podcast.

According to Ryan, big schools of 10-30 pound stripers also pushed up into the surf yesterday during the big northerly blow. The giant bluefin tuna bite has also been insane with fish up to 750 pounds. Ryan covers all of this during our conversation.

We also catch up with captain Eric Stewart from the Goose Hummock Shops in Orleans and Dennis. Eric is fresh off fishing the Nantucket Bluefin Blast put on by the Slip 14 Restaurant and Bar

Captain Eric has been marking, seeing and catching bluefin tuna in shallow water east of Cape Cod. According to Eric the striped bass are still holding off the Outer Cape and are sometimes mixed in with the tuna.

Lastly, Jeff Miller of Canal Bait & Tackle will join the show, and provides us with more positive news coming out of the Cape Cod Canal. Most of the bluefish have cleared out of the canal, but the bait is moving in.

Good tides are in the forecast this coming week at the canal. Jeff gives us all his recommendations for making the most of the tides whether you plan on fishing during the day or at night. In addition, Jeff gives us an update on the Cape Cod Bay boat and surf bite.
