Ryan Collins
These trips will be a great opportunity to target the most powerful fish in the sea, with captain Cullen Lundholm of Cape Star Charters and a 3 or 4 person crew from My Fishing Cape Cod.
During these trips, you may cast lures to breaking fish, drop jigs to tuna feeding below, or use live bait. You might fish Stellwagen Bank or east of Cape Cod. Captain Cullen goes wherever the tuna are biting best.
Tuna fishing is serious business. The fish are powerful and the weather can be less than ideal. Prior fishing experience and a level of comfort being on the water out of sight from shore is a must.
Aside from bluefin tuna, you may also see different species of whales, dolphins, seabirds, sharks and who knows what else!
Due to unpredictable fall weather, captain Cullen will decide which days this October are fishable. This decision will be made 24-48 hours before a trip is scheduled to sail, so flexibility on your part is key.
The first people to purchase a spot onboard one of these trips, will be the first people who are contacted. In other words, if you are the first person to pay and sign up, then you will be the first person contacted when Cullen decides to run a trip.
After signing up, you will receive a call or email 24-48 hours before a trip is scheduled to sail. If you are not able to go, then your credit can be applied towards a future group trip, or we can supply you with a refund (minus the cost of credit card transaction fees).
My Fishing Cape Cod group trips give you access to the best fishing Cape Cod has to offer, at an affordable per person rate. For example, if you were to book a private tuna trip by yourself, then you should expect to pay $1200 (or more) plus tip.
For our group trips with Cullen, the per person cost for members of My Fishing Cape Cod will be $480, and the per person cost for non-members will be $600/person.
Here are the details:
Registration Will Open This Thursday @ 7PM
Online registration for these tuna fishing trips will open at 7:00pm this Thursday October 11th. Please remember that the first people to sign up, will be the first people called to attend a trip.
Our goal is to run 3 trips this October, with a maximum of 3-4 people per trip. That means there will only be 12 available spots when registration opens this Thursday at 7:00pm.
So definitely act fast to make sure you get a spot!
Cullen and I are excited to be offering this opportunity!
We know a lot of My Fishing Cape Codders have been eager to fish for tuna, and I believe these groups trips are an economical way to give you the best chance possible at catching the most powerful fish in the sea.

Since travel to the site would be 3.5 hours…would we generally know the day before the trip…so we could travel the day before…and grab a hotel room?
Hey David,
We will definitely give as much notice as possible. If the longterm weather forecast looks good, then we might be able to give as much as a 3 or 4 day heads up. We’ll definitely do our best to accommodate your travel plans!
And if things end up not working with your schedule and you aren’t able to attend a trip, then we can refund your $ or apply the credit towards a future trip.
Please keep me posted with any other questions.
If we are chosen and can’t go on that date, are we off the list?
Thanks!
No Scott your name will remain on the list, and we will call you the next time a spot opens up ??And if things end up not working with your schedule and you aren’t able to attend a trip, then we can refund your $ or apply the credit towards a future trip.
Will the sign up be under the Store on your site or under this blog?
It will be under the “Store”
You can go directly to the signup page by clicking this link https://selz.co/VJgnaoaKr
Thanks Scott!
Hi I got your “memo” and I am not yet a member so I got to ask this.
You are having 3 tuna trips per person at (member/non member price) does that mean the first person contacted goes on all 3 trips OR is it per trip?
Also if tuna is landed successfully does the fish require permits/tags? AND does that person bring home the fish OR is it split equally based on number of people on board that day Or WHAT?
Thanks and hope to hear back from you and TIGHT LINES!!
Hi Paul,
The non-member price per trip is $600 and the member price per trip is $480.
When we see a weather window, then I will call people who have paid in the order that they registered. The first people to register and pay for a spot onboard a trip will be the first people called etc. etc.
There is a lot of meat on a tuna, so I would expect the fish to be divided up equally among the crew. Also if you hook a big tuna, you will probably need to take turns reeling it in. Teamwork makes the dreamwork!
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi Ryan, when I listened to pod cast you said the tuna season was closed till 12/1. Was that just bluefin only?
Hi Marc,
That was in reference to the commercial bluefin tuna season. The recreational bluefin tuna season is still open.
LMK if that answers your question.
Tight lines! ?
Ryan, how long do you have once you get notice to confirm before your passed over?
Hey Tim, I will wait as long as possible before calling the next guy, to give you enough time to check with family/work etc.
