This past Sunday after catching alligator bluefish and live-lining pogies from shore, I decided to switch up spots and hopefully find some striped bass. I packed up my stuff and headed off to a new area which I had never before fished.
When I arrived I saw dozens upon dozens of birds working over hundreds of feeding stripers. The bass were crushing peanut bunker all over the place, and I caught a bass on almost every cast I made.

This is what October is all about! I definitely cherish these fishing trips because I know winter is looming just over the horizon.

Now that looks like good fun! What a cool location.
It was great Steve. The best part was “the hunt” and the trek back into the estuary and thru the woods to get to those fish. Love that!
There have been some really big blues all throughout the area you were catching those big boys. They are fun to catch.
Very good, thanks Jeff. I plan to fish somewhere tomorrow/Saturday. Thanks for the intel!
You sure do work hard for those fish and are clearly rewarded for the effort. Nice work!
It’s all about the hunt for me Jeff. Exploring new places and combing around through the dunes, marsh and woods is what I enjoy the most. Of course catching a few fish isn’t half bad either!
