Kevin Collins

Hello and welcome to another addition of the My Fishing Cape Cod podcast! It's been a beautiful week here on Cape Cod -  both the weather and the fish have been cooperating.

The recent summer heat has not slowed down the fishing one bit. In fact, many areas on Cape are holding both big bait and big bass, among other species.

As always we are joined in this podcast by MFCC founder Ryan Collins and Jeff Miller of Canal Bait & Tackle. In addition, we have a brand new guest calling in from Lower Cape Cod - Shawn Fitzmaurice of the Goose Hummock.

Ryan Collins

MFCC Founder

As usual we kick off this week with a call to MFCC founder Ryan Collins, who has been fishing from his boat the "Miss Loretta" a lot in the past week.

Ryan gives us a report for the boat fishing around Provincetown, Buzzard's Bay, and Cape Cod Bay. He also touches on how to live-line pogies, plus some new MFCC Derby prizes.

Shawn Fitzmaurice

The Goose Hummock

For the first time we welcome Shawn Fitzmaurice of the Goose Hummock Shops in Orleans and Dennis. Sean is an avid surfcaster, and is in his first year of work at the Goose Hummock.

Sean provides us with a detailed report for Cape Cod Bay, from both boat and shore. He also touches on the surfcasting conditions in the bay, and along the backside beaches.

Jeff Miller

Canal Bait & Tackle

We wrap up this week's episode with our good friend Jeff Miller of Canal Bait & Tackle. We talk with Jeff each and every week on the podcast for the latest intel about what's happening at the Cape Cod Canal.

The Cape Cod Canal has been fishing very well recently with the arrival of adult pogies. There's a wide variety of big bait in the Canal right now that has fueled some excellent fishing.

    • Do you mean Long Island in New York?

Right now our focus is on the Cape Cod area, but perhaps in the future we could expand down there. You never know.

      Tight lines Joe!
